Welcome Message from Organisers

47th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS) 2026, New Delhi, India

Distinguished Delegates, Guests, and Colleagues,

Greetings!
On behalf of the Organising Committee and Asian Association of Remote Sensing (AARS), it gives us immense pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the 47th ACRS 2026, to be held in New Delhi, India. We are deeply honoured to host this esteemed international conference in a city that represents both the cultural soul and the scientific spirit of India — a nation recognised for its pioneering achievements in space science, remote sensing, and geospatial technology.

Hosting ACRS 2026 in New Delhi reflects India’s commitment to advancing international collaboration in remote sensing and spatial information sciences. The conference aims to provide a global platform for researchers, professionals, and decision-makers to exchange knowledge, present innovations, and discuss future directions. We warmly welcome our international colleagues to connect with India’s geospatial community and share insights that strengthen regional and global cooperation.

ACRS 2026 focuses on integrating space technology, artificial intelligence, and geospatial analytics to promote sustainable and resilient development. In an era of rapid environmental and climatic change, the need for robust observation, modelling, and decision-support systems has been exponentially increased. Remote sensing, enriched by data-driven intelligence and cloud-based geo computation, offers new opportunities to monitor natural resources, assess hazards, optimise land use, and support policy planning at multiple scales.

Building upon the legacy of ACRS conferences in the past, this year’s conference will continue to serve as a key platform for scientific exchange, technology demonstration, and regional collaboration. The technical program will feature plenary and keynote sessions, oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, special sessions, and industry exhibitions—all designed to foster knowledge sharing and capacity building in the fields of remote sensing and spatial information sciences.

Delhi, with its unique blend of ancient heritage and modern infrastructure, provides an inspiring setting for ACRS 2026. The city’s academic, research, and governmental institutions reflect India’s sustained commitment to science-led growth and international cooperation. We are confident that participants will find the technical deliberations intellectually enriching and their stay in India both productive and memorable.

We warmly invite the global remote sensing community to join us at ACRS 2026 in New Delhi, as we collectively explore new horizons in geospatial science and technology for sustainable and inclusive development.

Welcome Message

Dear International Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to inform you that the 47th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS 2026) will be held from 5th to 9th October 2026 in New Delhi, India. The conference will be co-hosted by the Asian Association on Remote Sensing (AARS) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of India. India has hosted ACRS three times in the past. First time in 1985 in Hyderabad, second time in 1994 in Bangalore, and third time in 2017 in New Delhi. This means India is one of the key players in AARS. We still remember the successful ACRS 2017 organized in New Delhi with 967 participants from 53 countries. This time, the theme of ACRS 2026 is Remote Sensing for Future Earth - Innovation, Inclusion and Impact. The conference will incorporate a wide range of interesting and cutting-edge themes related to Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including climate change, disaster monitoring, sustainable development, AI, big data, small satellites, UAVs, and various applications.

The LOC, which includes senior ISRO officials and dedicated members of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS), is actively working for the preparation. I am sure that ACRS 2026 will be a memorable and exciting conference. We look forward to welcoming you all to ACRS 2026 in New Delhi!
